While we do accept ads of a 'personal' nature, we are NOT a sex service and do NOT accept ads of a sexual nature or looking for sexual contacts, no matter how discreetly written!  Please keep this in mind when submitting an ad or responding to an ad placed here.   1. Who can place an ad?
    Penpal Connection exclusively serves members of the Gay Lesbian and Bi-sexual Communities, aged 18 and older. You must be a member of these Communities to place an ad. Additionally, your 'orientation' must match the page you are placing your ad on. For example, we only allow Gay men to place ads on the Gay Men's page, Bi-men on the Bi-men's page, etc.

  2. How much does it cost?
    Placing an ad is 100% free. To be able to respond to ads requires a nominal annual subscription. Details can be accessed by clicking     HERE.

  3. Can I say anything I want in my ad?
    No. Ad content must be suitable for all ages and audiences. We do not accept ads of a sexual nature! Ads looking for "hot times", "dirty messages", "trading of nude pics" and ads describing personal physical endowments are not allowed and will not be responded to by us. Additionally, please keep in mind that we are a "penpal" service. Ads with any sexual content are not permitted, no matter how discreetly written. This includes, but is not limited to phrases such as a love for "INDOOR sports"! Additionally, 'unsuitable content' also applies to email addresses. We will not publish ads that use email addresses which have any form of sexual or offensive content. We reserve the right to reject any ad for any reason.

    Ads using phrases such as "boys", "younger", "young", etc. MUST clearly state they are only looking for respondents who are at least 18 years old. This policy also applies when saying things such as, "...under 30...", "...up to 40...", "...around 18...", etc. In those cases, as well, the ad must clearly state that respondents must be at least 18. Additionally, ads which use phrases such as "age not important" or "any age okay" must clearly state a minimum age of 18 for respondents.

    WE DO NOT ACCEPT ADS SUBMITTED IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. SUBJECT LINES MAY BE CAPITALIZED,  HOWEVER, THE BODY OF THE AD MUST BE IN NORMAL SENTENCE CASE OR LOWERCASE.

    Finally, we will no longer allow links to personal webpages, as that makes contact available without someone becoming a member of our site.

  4. Can I place an ad for 'snail-mail' responses?
    We are unable to accept ads which contain 'snail-mail' addresses or telephone numbers.

  5. How long will my ad be online?
    Depending upon the ad category, ads will be online for a minimum of 2-3 months. You can, of course, ask for your ad to be removed at any time before that.

  6. How do I place a new ad?
    Please note: We only allow one ad per person every 30 days! (Attempting to use multiple e-mail addresses does NOT bypass this requirement.)
    To place an ad, simply send a copy of what you wish your ad to say to:

    If you wish to have a photo with your ad, send it as a separate file attachment to the e-mail. (Photographs must be of the person posting the ad only (We cannot publish the image of anyone else.) and "G"-rated. Additionally, using a copy of your photo off our server for other purposes is strictly prohibited!) The submission MUST be sent from the same e-mail account which is to appear in the ad.
    While we do not wish to inhibit an advertiser's creativity, we do ask that you be somewhat considerate when it comes to the length of your ad submission. We ask that you limit any submissions to no more than 300 words! Our experience has shown that is MORE than ample to get your message across.

  7. How will I know when my ad is published?
    Ads are usually published within 24 hours. When your ad is published, you will receive an e-mail confirmation from us letting you know your ad is online.

  8. How do I remove my ad?
    To remove your ad, simply send a request for removal to the same address you submitted your ad to (see above). We give top priority to all removal requests and try to process them immediately upon receipt. Once removed, you may place a new ad 30 days after your ad was first published. (Please keep in mind that we do sleep and eat on occasion.)

  9. Why wasn't my ad published?
    There are many reasons why ads are not published. In virtually all cases, it comes down to the individual not having read the guidelines as posted here in this FAQ. The most common reasons ads are rejected are:
    1. The ad was submitted from a different address than the address contained in the ad.
    2. The ad violated our content guidelines. The most common violations are including sexual content and violating our age content requirements.
    3. You have had an ad published within the past 60 days, possibly from a different e-mail address. We only allow one submission per person every 60 days!
    Notwithstanding the guidelines published here, we reserve the right to refuse publication of any ad for any reason we see fit.

  10. How do I make changes to my ad?
    While we try to accommodate our users as much as possible, we ask that you limit any changes to your ad to once every 30 days. This means that you are permitted to make changes after your ad has been online for 30 days. Quite simply, maintaining these services is quite time-consuming and we just don't have the time to make changes to an individual's ad every few hours or days. In other words, please decide what you want your ad to say before submitting it the first time.

  11. How often can I request my ad to be moved back to the first page?
    To give everyone an equal opportunity to have their ad seen, we will only return an ad to page one after it has been online for at least 30 days.

  12. I want my photo with my ad, but don't have any way to get it scanned...
