I've used Chanton several time years ago and managed to build friendships with some of the nicest people in the world. Too bad, throughout the time, I lost contacts with them. Fortunately, I'm still able to keep in touch with a wonderful guy that I'm proud to say as one of my best friends although we're so separated away across continents. We've been talking with each other for the last 5 years online. I'm hoping to find several more penpals from all over the world and experience the closeness of friendship that I had. I believe there are so many good-hearted guys who visit this website that have the decency to build a true friendship.
A little bit about myself. I'm David, a 28 y.o. guy from Jakarta, Indonesia. I work in the IT field as a consultant for the last 5 - 6 years. Lots of struggles and problems, but at the same time I had the chance to learn from the experience and become a better person. As for hobbies, music is my major interest. I enjoy listening to different kinds of music, singing and playing the piano. When things are so crazy and depressing, listening music has become a very effective remedy to calm my mind and soul. Other than that, I love movies (TV and cinemas), mostly thriller / horror and comedy, reading novels, sightseeing, eating out, traveling, etc. Why movies and novels? Well, not only it's very entertaining, at the same time lots of things can be learn from movies you saw or novels you read. The latest novel I read was "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman which I think really interesting. I'm a very shy and introvert person. It takes a while for me to adapt to a new environment. But as I get along with it, I can be such a very talkative, fun and full of laugh. Some people see me as a very serious and complex person. Perhaps because I'm such a perfectionist person, I tend to get depressed and upset easily whenever problem occurs. It's a learning process to be able to have fun with our life and just enjoy whatever life brings you. At the same time, I'm quite a good listener and always aimed to help or at least provide advices to friends in trouble.
By now, you have known something about me. If you found me as a nice person to talk with, don't hesitate to write me a message. I'm more than happy to read and reply your every e-mails. I only seek someone who are really serious about building a new friendship. It means someone who don't stop writing after one or two emails and someone who are willing to write longer than just 2 - 3 lines. Anyone is welcome, although I'm prefer to meet someone around my age (25 - 35) and if possible from Europe or Central / South America. Just be yourself. Who knows, maybe we can get along. Only time can tell.

First of all, my thanks to all who have viewed my profile. Actually, I have rewritten the profile, hoping to give a better idea as to the type of relationship I am seeking.
Ideally, I would like very much to meet someone who's fairly close to my age, in Denver or suburbs, or the Boulder area. It would be great to have a "close" friend (gay -- no bi's or married) to spend time with on a regular basis -- dining out, occasionally enjoying theatre and movies, shopping (love browsing in thrift stores, antique stores, etc.), outings, and other fun events and times. At the same time, getting better acquainted and sharing ideas should be, I believe to be an important and natural outcome of a relationship -- honesty and loyalty -- the mutual enjoyment of intimacy, etc.
Pastimes and interests include music, theatre, Italian food (and other ethnic foods), reading, ice skating, ceramics, weekend trips, etc.
I am a member of a local civic chorus (sing baritone) and I serve as organist for two area churches. I find enjoyable, too, entertaining on keyboard at recreation centers, senior centers, assisted living facilities, and private functions.
Am 5'11" with blonde hair, blue eyes, mustache, 184 lbs., small frame but "do" have a belly. Am healthy, drug and disease-free, HIV-.

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Nick, I am 25 years old and I live and work near the city of Manchester in the North West region of the UK. I've been out since the age of 19 and I am comfortable with who I am, though unfortunately with certain parts of our society being socially inept, as they are, I have learned not to display my sexuality... though if I am asked I will not lie about myself, if you know what I mean. My sexuality is but one part of my life, and it doesn't govern me! Moving on from that, I'm a student, one year away from graduating from University with a degree in Creative Writing. I love literature, fiction especially, and I read as often as I can. I love music, cinema, theatre, and I've recently taken up swimming again. I also play the great Olympic sport of Curling, which I love dearly. I'm the youngest in my family and I have three brothers and two sisters. I'm also an uncle to thirteen children (yes, you heard me right, thirteen!!) and a godfather to four. I could carry on but there'd be little reason for you all to get in touch! Plus, I think the webmasters wouldn't allow an ad with lots of text!! So I'll try to keep this to the point.
I've placed an ad on Chanton before and I have made some great friends. Unfortunately, I have lost touch with a few of them so I would love for them to get in touch again, you know who you are. It would be great to meet new people, from age 18 and above, especially in Canada as I hope to study a Masters degree and move there one day.
